With a contemporary look at the past, the exhibition Deftig Barock at the Kunsthaus Zürich raises the question of why works from the Baroque period continue to resonate with us today, in an era of global networking. At the same time, it offers an opportunity to rethink our ideas about the Baroque. Deftig Barock juxtaposes contemporary artworks with paintings from the seventeenth century. It is not about pomp, frills and gold, but about manifestations of the precarious vitality.

Deftig Barock
two different realities
The exhibition brings together two different realities that fertilise and recharge each other. The conventional narrative technique is deliberately interrupted. Curated by Bice Curiger, in collaboration with Studio Marie Lusa.
VISUAL IDENTITY
A unique identity that combines 17th century typography with the work of Urs Fischer, thus fusing the two worlds together. The posters attracted a lot of attention and attracted visitors. In addition, a book for an in-depth exploration of the themes of the exhibition was produced as well as various means of communication for specific offers such as the summer workshop.
PATHS IN SPACE
A conduit system that leads through the Kunsthaus, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the world of the Deftig Barock.
TASKS Design concept & identity of the exhibition, poster design, signage, and various communication materials such as advertisements, flyers, invitations, fold-out flyers, and book design.
